The Course:
You have a choice of two trail running distances, The Montane Trail 13 half marathon or The Montane Trail 10 10k.

Both the Trail 13 and Trail 10 routes set off along the same path initially. You will head out and complete loop 1, a lap of the Blakemere Moss Lake, before the two routes separate and head out on their separate ways.

The Trail 13 then heads over to the far side of the forest for some fun trails and little climbs, whereas the Trail 10 heads over to Eddisbury Lodge for loop 2. The Trail 13 eventually rejoins Trail 10 and you all descend down a great bit of narrow, twisty trail back into the main forest. From here, both races will face the final challenge, the climb up Old Pale before enjoying a well earned fast descent to the finish.

The routes are on forest trail which is mostly well compacted, however there are some small sections of rocky/stony/muddy terrain.

The Delamere trail running course will be fully signed with bright yellow directional signs together with our famous “motivational quotes” to keep you going.

There will be 1 feeding station on the course. The feeding station is at the cross junction of each loop so the Trail 10 will pass through it once whereas the Trail 13 will pass through three times in total.

Refreshments will be available at the event all day, near to the registration area and will provide a variety of food and drinks.
